MULTAN: Agriculture department recovered fake pesticides worth Rs 3.5 million from a factory.
Pest Warning team of Agriculture department Khanewal led by Assistant Director Mian Attique Ahmed, raided at a cotton factory in Kohiwala village, located in tehsil Kabirwala and found fake pesticides worth Rs 3.5 millions. The outlaws were filling the pesticide into bottles labeled with known pesticides company’s name. The team sealed the factory.
Case under pesticide ordinance was lodged against the owners of the factory- Aurangzeb and Sajjad. However, samples of the recovered pesticides were sent to lab for analysis.
Secretary Agriculture Punjab Muhammad Mehmood appreciated the raid and also directed officials to intensify the raiding process further in order to stop sale of fake pesticides or fertilizers.
