Qadri highlights importance of electing educated representatives

LAHORE: It is the responsibility of people and the parliament of Pakistan to choose and elect honest, sincere and truthful representatives, said Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri while talking to party workers on Tuesday.

Addressing PAT leaders, including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Fayyaz Warraich, Noorullah Sadique, Sajid Bhatti, Jawad Hamid, Shakir Mazari, Rafique Najam, Tanveer Khan, Irfan Yousaf and Farreh Naz, Qadri said due to the corrupt and unjust electoral system, only those people went to the parliaments who either bought votes and the election staff or had huge political influence and were able to throw their weight around.

Due to such reasons, Pakistan has never seen peace and stability and neither responsible nor honest leadership, he said, adding that the day the people use their voting power judiciously and understand that it is they who can change the system, that would be the day problems of Pakistan would be solved and only then would we have honest and responsible leadership.

Qadri said Pakistan needs well-educated and honest leadership, which can take the country to the heights of development with their bravery and honesty. He said this responsibility lies on the shoulders of the people who vote to send their representative to the assemblies.

The PAT chief said the slogans and reasons upon which Pakistan was created remain unfulfilled and the country has been facing crisis after crisis. He said politics is the best way to serve the masses but for that we have to send educated and honest people to the assemblies.

He said the gap between the rich and poor has grown to such heights that the country has been turned into a barren area. “The poor are finding it very difficult to feed their families while the rich have amassed so much wealth that they themselves don’t know how much wealth they have.

Dr Tahirul Qadri said that in this holy month of Ramazan, we all must vow to take guidance from the teaching and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and not only transform our lives and characters but also work towards making the country into a peaceful state.
