280 dilapidated buildings get vacation notices

RAWALPINDI: Rawal Town and Potohar Town administration have issued notices to the inmates of 280 dangerous and dilapidated buildings for immediate vacation or repair of these residences in order to avert any untoward incident during monsoon rains. The residents have been warned through notices that if they fail to vacate them, stern action will be taken against them. According to media reports, the inmates of these buildings have challenged these notices in the courts, obtained stay orders and handed over them to TMAs. These decrepit buildings are one hundred years old and are located in Bhabhra Bazaar, Trunk bazaar, Mohalllah Niarian, Shah Chan Chiragh, Purana Qilla, Akal Garh, Ghazni Road, Bagh-e-Sardaran, Banni Mohalla, Sarafa Bazaar, Lunda Bazaar, Chattian Hattian, Mohan Pura, Kartar Pura, Angat Pura and around Lal Haveli.
