ISLAMABAD: A member of Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Science, Dr Khaled Al-Zaaq, claimed on Wednesday that the fasting month of Ramazan would be consisting of 30 days and July 6 would be the day of Eidul Firt in most parts of the Islamic world.

“The fasting month is slowly moving to the winter season, away from the scorching summer season but the faithful will have to wait for 10 more years to enjoy a nice and pleasant weather in the month of Ramazan. However, it would not take more than four years for Saudis to witness the fasting month in a rainy season,” he claimed.

Al-Zaaq said he expected a substantial temperature decrease in the month of Ramazan in coming years. “After seven years, the fasting month will fall in spring season,” he told Saudi Gazette.

“Climatic seasons would see variations after every 33 years. The Hijrah year is regressing compared to the Gregorian and the fasting month is going back to join the spring season after four years. It will be in the last days of the holy month,” he explained.

“The fasting month will be in the spring season after seven years,” he said. “In 1441H you will enjoy cold weather from the beginning of Ramazan and in 1446H, the month of Ramazan will be in winter.”

He said that the fasting month would continue in the hot season in coming three years. He, however, pointed out that the degree of temperature would start declining.

“Next year, for example, the temperature in the fasting month will be less than what we are experiencing now and in 1439H it will be less than 1438H,” he added.

He said that the fasting month would remain in a single climatic period for nine years. “It will stay nine years in winter and then nine years in summer,” he pointed out.

Speaking about temperatures in the remaining days of Ramazan this year, he said it could reach up to 50 degrees Celsius in Iraq and Kuwait and in the Kingdom’s eastern province.
