LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the election reforms are a prerequisite for holding fair polls.
Addressing the local bodies’ representatives here on Saturday, the former prime minister said that the PML-Q would accept elections without reforms in the wake of final verdict of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.
He said that endorsement from all parties regarding the reforms before the elections.
He said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Law and Justice Minister Zahid Hamid had said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had so far held 100 meetings but their minutes were never made public. He said that people have had every right to know about the proceedings of the ECP meetings.
Former minister Ch Wajahat Hussain, Shafay Hussain, Hussain Elahi, Abdullah Yousuf Warraich and Saadat Nawaz Ajnala were also present.
