SUKKUR: Eid shopping is gaining momentum with the beginning of the second Ashra of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak as people belonging to all age groups including women and children are seen in larger quantity in bazaars on Sunday.

Stalls for Eid shopping have been set up at various points including Shahi Bazar, Resham Gali, Ferer road, and others offering different kinds of cosmetics, earrings, bangles, embroidered clothes, jewelers and dresses.

The main purchases of the citizens were clothes, footwear and many other items so as to beautify the festival. Everyone seemed to have been preparing to celebrate Eidul Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals celebrated after Ramazan.

Several shoppers told Daily Times that most of the items were too expensive to be bought by average persons as rates of children’s clothes have reached sky high. Women were busy buying embroidered dresses, elaborate frocks for girls, and bangles.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have made foolproof security arrangements for the safety of the people at various shopping centers, markets and public places and to ensure security of women lady police have also been deployed.
