SUKKUR: Swimming in the Kirthar canal to beat the sweltering heat proved fatal for two boys on Sunday. An 18-year-old boy Hub Ali and another twenty years old Asghar Ali drowned in the Kirthar canal which flows from Sukkur barrage. Eyewitnesses said that the victims came to the canal for taking bath to escape from scorching heat; but they did not come out after taking dive into the water. The people who were present there informed rescue officials about the incident. The rescuers could not fish out the bodies from the canal despite of the hectic efforts. The efforts were being made to trace the bodies till the filling of the report.
