MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that there are now two groups in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Talking to the media on Saturday, he said, “The first group is the ‘bacha’ (kid’s) group, which wants conflict with institutions. The second group, which is represented by Chaudhry Nisar, instead of saving personalities wants to save the system.”
Qureshi said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been allowed a second chance in the Supreme Court but he failed to prove his innocence in the Panama Papers case.
“Nawaz Sharif has failed to prove his innocence. He is no longer ‘saadiq’ and ‘ameen’ and stands to be disqualified,” Qureshi said.
The PTI leader claimed the PM failed to submit his money trail and false documents were presented on the premier’s behalf before the apex court. “We are anxiously waiting for the verdict,” Qureshi said.
Meanwhile, another PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday said that the money trail for Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence was submitted in the court after gathering details from London, and added the party had now allayed the concerns of rival PML-N.
The PTI leaders were addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
Making a comparison between prime minister’s children and the PTI chief, Chaudhry said that Nawaz’s son has a Rs 6,000 million apartment while Imran owned a Rs 5 million apartment.
“Whether it’s Nawaz Sharif, Fazlur Rehman or Zardari, they need to submit a money trail similar to that provided by Imran,” said the PTI leader.
In 1980, Imran Khan was the county’s most expensive player, said Chaudhry, adding that the cases against the PTI would go to dustbin.
Similarly, PTI leader Shafqat Mahmood said accountability of powerful people was a favourable exercise and this “will also strengthen democracy”.
The PTI’s central information secretary was addressing a press conference in Lahore.
He said that this time around it seemed that the country was going toward betterment.
