KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah visited naval installations at Gwadar to witness operational readiness of the navy units in the area and port security measures.
The naval chief was received by Coast Commander Rear Admiral Waseem Akram, an ISPR statement said on Friday. During the visit, he was briefed regarding the ongoing operational activities and associated security aspects at Gwadar port particularly with respect to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The Naval Chief expressed Pakistan Navy’s resolve to ensure seaward defence of vital maritime infrastructure and protection of the maritime interests of Pakistan against all threats. He reiterated that development of the Gwadar port will be lynchpin for the overall success of CPEC project.
Talking to the officers, the naval chief applauded their professionalism and dedication in safeguarding the maritime frontiers of the country. He also expressed his complete satisfaction on the port security measures and operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in the area of responsibility. Later on, he also had an informal interaction with officers and men.
