Security forces defuse IED

KHYBER AGENCY: An improvised explosive device (IED) planted by known militants at Pak-Afghan road at Sultan Khel area of Tehsil Landikotal was defused by the forces late on Saturday night.

The forces official told that on information convoyed to them regarding presence of a suspected package, concealed in raw mud at roadside of the highway, the security agencies officials moved to the site, cordoned off of the area and disposed the IED through forces Bomb Disposal Squad (DPS). According to the administration official, three suspects were detained and shifted to forces cantonment for interrogation.

Meanwhile due to law and order situation, the administration issued order of early closing of recreation centers, shops and markets in rural areas of Landikotal. The administration official told that keeping in view the security situation; the local tribesmen of Zakria Masjid, Dedan Chowk have been asked not to stay up lately at the pastime centers in Ramadan and shot their business centers early to avoid any untoward incident.
