‘China to increase scholarships for Pakistani students’

PESHAWAR: China is considering large number of scholarships for Pakistani students, who are learning Chinese language and establishment of the Institute of Chinese Language Culture Conference in the universities of Peshawar and Abbottabad.

These assurances were given by Chinese diplomats while talking to a delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad. The KP delegation was headed by Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Higher Education and Information, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, while the Chinese Embassy was represented by Deputy Chief of Mission and Political Adviser, MD Zhoo Lian. The delegation was informed that China annually provides 220 scholarships to graduate, postgraduate and doctorate level Pakistani students on which the KP delegation, while keeping in view situation in the province, demanded specification of quota for their students.

During the meeting, both sides expressed resolve that being sister provinces, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Xinjiang and sister cities Abbottabad and Kashgar will make special arrangements each other in head of special scholarships and educational facilities and an Education and Cultural Desk will also be established in Peshawar.
