Reconciliation efforts to resolve Qatar-Arab crisis good omen: PUC

Author: Press Release

ISLAMABAD: Reconciliation efforts on part of Muslim world to resolve mounting differences and controversies between Qatar and Arab countries is a good and positive move.

“Foreign intervention in affairs of Muslim countries is root cause of confronting challenges in Syria, Iraq and Yemen. To create confrontation in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries, conspiracies are being hatched,” said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi. Talking to delegates of local and international media on Sunday, the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) chairman said that entire Muslim Ummah was united for defence and security of Harmain Al-Sharifain. The entire Muslim Ummah has to demonstrate cohesive strength against the menace of terrorism and extremism as Daesh has threatened Saudi Arabia of terrorist attacks after last week’s attacks in Tehran, Kabul and UK, he said. “Leadership of Islamic countries should keep check on elements propagating extremist ideologies in the Muslim world,” said Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, adding that an explicit and systematic mechanism was need of the hour to contain the menace of extremism and terrorism. He also underlined that foreign intervention in affairs of Muslim countries was a major challenge and burning challenges of Syria, Iraq and Yemen were witness to the fact that conspiracies were being harboured to create chaos and confrontation in the Muslim world. “The Pakistan Ulema Council will continue its cause and struggle for unity of Muslim Ummah and for annihilation of extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence from the Muslim world,” resolved Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi. He said that prevailing Gulf crisis should be settled through dialogues, and leadership of Arab countries and Qatar should settle differences with the assistance of Gulf Coordination Council, he said. He added that enemies of Islam and Muslims were seeing this prevailing controversy between Qatar and Arab world as an opportunity to damage unity of Muslim Ummah. “Daesh, Hizbullah and other such terrorists’ organisations have damaged repute of Muslims and Islam all over the world. Muslim youth should be educated against extremist ideologies as propagated by leadership of Al-Ikhwaan Al-Muslimoon.” He said that amidst prevailing challenges when the entire Muslim Ummah had been in a state of chaos, leadership of Al-Ikhwaan Al-Muslimoon should review their extremist conducts.
