LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif visited North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Monday and then spent time with the temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) at Bannu and had iftar with them, a statement of the Inter Services Public Relations said.
The army chief exchanged views with TDPs on various aspects of return, resettlement process and development work. On his arrival at NWA, General Raheel was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman.
During his visit, which was mainly focused on TDPs and their dignified return to their respective areas, the Corps Commander and the Formation Commander briefed the army chief in detail about the post operation security environment, progress of TDPs’ return, their resettlement and reconstruction work, the statement added.
General Raheel reiterated his emphasis on ensuring the quality of life of TDPs through a comprehensive rehabilitation plan, ISPR statement said.
