PESHAWAR: The deserving families of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) on Monday faced difficulties due to inactive ATMs in various banks of the provincial capital. As the auspicious of day Eid-ul-Fitr draws closer, a large number of people went to the bank to collect their monthly financial support through the BISP. But owing to the unavailability of money, ATMs left them disappointed.
The needy, including women and children from far flung areas waited in a long queue in the hot summer to receive their money, but to no avail because neither were the machines working nor was the amount available. Most of them were compelled to go to their homes without getting the amount. When the bank administration was made aware of the situation, steps were taken on swiftly and the ATM machines were made functional, and the money was distributed.
