ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday continued rescue and relief operation in flood-hit areas of Chitral district.
According to Radio Pakistan, the relief operation was in full speed in Chitral’s Ursoon village and Drosh district, the hardest hit areas, where more than 500 tents were distributed among the victims.
KP Minister Mahmood Khan Achakzai also visited Ursoon village and distributed Rs 300,000 in cash among the affected people.
According to a Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesman, all those families, who have lost their members, were given compensation amount of Rs 300,000 rupees each, besides the one-month ration for all the affected families.
The spokesman said search for the 13 missing persons was going on. General Officer Commanding (GOC) Malakand Major General Ghafoor also met the affected and gave them ration on behalf of the Pakistan Army.
