Terror bid foiled in Karachi, weapons seized

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a major terror bid, while recovering huge cache of weapons and explosives in Karachi. The CTD personnel on a tip-off raided a hideout in Malir and seized huge cache of explosives and weapons. The CTD claimed that the alleged terrorists were going to use these weapons to target a shopping centre and installations of intelligence agencies. Meanwhile, another search operation was conducted in Phuktunabad area of Manghopir. Police rounded up 44 suspects including two foreigners. Similarly, the law enforcement agencies conducted search operations in Shireen Jinnah Colony and Baldia Colony and arrested three suspects and two alleged gamblers.
