RAWALPINDI: After a faulty swing in parks in Sahiwal and Mian Chanu left several people injured, the Rawalpindi district government has imposed a ban on the operation of swings in parks.

The district government has issued directives to swing operators to get fitness certificates from engineers. “The operators will only be allowed to
run swings if they furnish fitness certificates from engineers,” said an official in the district government.

The official said that the DCO Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood has issued the ban orders. All assistant commissioners have been directed to check the swings in parks.

Meanwhile, assistant commissioner Taxila has ordered closure of two swings in parks.
