Criminals remain active during Eid holidays

RAWALPINDI: Seven people were murdered including two women and one eunuch while thieves deprived citizens of 11 vehicles, three motorbikes, ornaments, valuables and cash of almost Rs 10 million in 27 criminal activities in Rawlpindi during Eid holidays.

The bike rider robbers were active in the Cantt area but the police did nothing. During the holidays of Eidul Fitr some unknown persons fired on the forehead of an eunuch Mir Ahmed resident of Lahore in the locality of Dhoke Darzian under the jurisdiction of Ratta Amral Police Station.

The deceased was 42 and was living in a rented house.

In the vicinity of Westridge some unidentified men opened fire hitting the neck of a 27 year-old youth . The killers after throwing the body under a bridge , ran away from the crime scene.

Under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mandra two brothers invited Ikhtiar to their home and killed him along with their sister by inducing high voltage current in the name of honour killing.

Police found two separate dead bodies in the areas of Police Stations Civil Lines and Kahuta. The killers after murdering them threw their bodies in deserted areas. In Gujar Khan the killers gunned down a mother Basra Bibi and her young daughter Nabila on an old enmity. One of the assassins wanted to marry Nabila.

On Monday two bike riders snatched almost 4.5 tolas of gold jewellery from a woman in broad daylight in the area of Tench Bhatta under the jurisdiction of R.A. Bazar Police Station.

In a similar action two motorcycle riders grabbed four tolas of ornaments at Misriyal Road . In a third doing, unfamiliar robbers on motorbike took away hard cash of Rs 0.5 million from the cashier of a filing station at Dhamiyal Road. He was going to a bank to deposit the cash.

On Eid day , anonymous criminals snatched a mobile phone from a citizen Azhar on Bank Road under the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station. In the area of Civil Lines, a gang looted a woman and grasped her handbag from a fruit shop in which some 100,000 US dollars and three diamond rings were present.

In Sher Zaman Colony under the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station three armed men looted an officer of a sensitive department and his family in front of his house and took away 600 dollars, Rs 40,000, gold ornaments and cellular phones

During Eid holidays car lifters became very active as they took away several cars bearing registration No. NH 330 from Sadiqabad , KH 983 from New Town, SM 405 from Commercial Market, BW 156 from Chur Chowk , IDT 3960 from Haider Road, RN 559 from Hathi Chowk , JS 913 from Defence Colony , RIA 3408 from Gulistan Colony , LXM 118 from Wah and RIA 445 from Mandra.

Bandits struck at the house of a money changer Haji Zahid and took away 5000 pounds, 2500 dollars, 4500 Euros, 16600 dirhams, one million Irani riyals and 200,000 Pak rupees from the area of Sadiqabad.

At Range Road the thieves, after cutting the locks collected prize bonds worth one million and Rs 590,000 in cash. Under the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station burglars looted two houses in the absence of owners and stole jewellery , cash and other valuables including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, watches and motorbikes worth of millions of rupees from different localities of the city.

It is pertinent to mention here that the police often do not register complaints regarding thefts and robberies.
