JIT’s closed-door inquiry to benefit Nawaz: Aitzaz

Author: Online

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to stage a drama.

“The JIT’s closed-doors inquiry is only aimed at benefiting Nawaz Sharif,” he said while talking to reporters outside the Lahore High Court.

Aitzaz said that the inquiry of Hasan and Hussain Nawaz should be held open. “The entire Panamagate case can be solved in just three hours. For what purpose Hussain Nawaz is made to sit for six hours?”

He went on to say that levelling false allegations had become a habit of the PML-N wherein a “brigade of abusers” is used.

He said that people were fed up of hearing that the Sharif family had rendered account of its three generations.

He condemned the attack on Sheikh Rasheed in Parliament House. “Such incidents show that Nawaz Sharif has become confused.”

To a question, he said that the PPP had a clear stance from the very first day that the JIT inquiry should be held open because motive of the JIT inquiry in closed-doors was only to benefit Nawaz Sharif.

“Nawaz will appear before JIT to stage a drama. The point is not just appearance [before JIT]; it’s about speaking the truth,” he said.

To another question, he said that the PML-N wanted to make the JIT controversial by levelling false allegations.
