122 persons lose lives in Rawalpindi crime incidents in first half of 2016

RAWALPINDI: 122 persons were reported to have lost their life in 1177 different cases of murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, rape and armed clashes registered in 30 police stations of district Rawalpindi during the first six months (January-June) of this year.

As per statistics pertaining to the period January, 01 to June, 30 as many as 122 persons were killed in different cases of murder, attempt to murder and armed clashes while 164 citizens were critically injured in several attempt to murder cases. three persons killed themselves in 28 suicide and attempt to suicide cases. 547 persons sustained injuries in armed clashes. Citizens were deprived of valuables worth millions at gunpoint in 1177 cases of robbery and banditry. 14 vehicles and 27 motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and 610 motorcycles were stolen.

Twenty three incidents of rape including three incidents of gang rape with women took place and two cases of molestation of children were reported. 273 incidents of kidnapping including five incidents of kidnapping for ransom were reported. 11 children were kidnapped.

As many as 39 incidents of attacks on police occurred. 177 road incidents took place. 293 cars, 238 motorcycles and 79 other vehicles were stolen in different theft cases.
