MARDAN: The Askari Family Park in Kalpanri Mardan has been an ideal picnic spot for the local residents of Mardan and other nearby districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to spend their leisure time. The park, which is administered by Pakistan Army, attracts visitors in large number to spend their free time with their kids and other members of the family. The park offers facilities such as boat rides, horse and camel rides, swimming pools and many other recreational facilities. Parks and gardens are usually considered incomplete without food outlets. Askari Family Park covers the immediate refreshment needs and requirements of the visitors.

The majority of the visitors prefer to prepare their own meals at the park under the shade of the trees in this hot summer season. People visiting the park say they enjoyed their time at the park as it is the lone family park in the vicinity. One Hakeem Khan, who had brought his family to the park, said: “I am a resident of Kalu Khan, a suburban area of Mardan, and had heard about the park. My visit is worth every dime I spent coming here.”
