Crackdown against profiteers

KARACHI: In continued crackdowns against profiteers in different parts of the city, 4784 shopkeepers were fined over Rs 128. 57 million for selling commodities above fixed rates. authorities sent 70 profiteers to jail.

Ejaz Ahmed Khan, Commissioner Karachi, stated that the crackdown is going on against the profiteers, the shopkeepers who were not selling the commodities at rates fixed by the administration have been fined and sent to the jail as well. Actions were taken in Saddar, Civil Lines, Garden, SITE, Baldia, Ferozabad, Guslhan e Iqbal, Gulzar-i-Hijri, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, N- Nazimabad, Orangi, Bin Qasim, Ibrahim Hyderi, N-Karachi, Landhi, Korangi and Model Town.
