OKARA: Six suspected terrorists were killed and two law enforcement officials were injured in a gun battle in a village near Okara early on Wednesday morning. According to details, intelligence agencies and police launched an operation against the suspected terrorists on a tip-off in 28 L-2 village near Okara. In reaction, the suspected terrorists opened fire at the security forces. The law enforcement agencies returned the fire, killing six terror suspects. Some of the terror suspects were identified as Amir Sohaib, Saeed-ur-Rehman, Sami and Yasib-ur-Rehman. They are from Hangu, Attock, Bannu and Shangla. It is reported that some terrorists managed to escape during the operation. However, there is no official confirmation of such reports. District Police Officer Faisal Rana said the operation against the alleged terrorists was carried out on the basis of information about presence of Al-Qaeda terrorists in a house in the village near Okara. He said the shootout left six terrorists dead and two security personnel injured, adding that arms and ammunition was seized from the house. Rocket launchers, detonators, explosive material and made-in-India weapons were found on the dead suspects. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Superintendent of Police Saeed Magsi said the operation was conducted on the basis of information about the presence of six to eight terrorists in the area. He said that a search operation was under way to arrest the fleeing terrorists.
