Summers, as great as they are; can be quite a difficult season for our slumber, with the kids on summer break, and the long and hot days that bring our energy down.
The changes in our routines cause our sleep cycles to get disturbed, and that may lead to some serious issues in our health.
Research shows that lack of sleep can lead to migraines, anxiety attacks and temper problems. All these problems are further boosted by the summer heat; already many of us are having terrible migraines on a regular basis and one way to fix and prevent them is by getting proper sleep regularly.
The summer can also affect our slumber and health in many other ways; like from all the late nights spent awake on the weekends. Disrupting your sleep cycle too often can lead to sickness, insomnia and even weight gain; so even if you’ve been up till late at night, wake up on you usual time, to break the bad cycle. Catch up on the lost sleep through naps during the afternoon; great way to spend the long summer days anyway.
Wake up fresh and early to really enjoy the summer morning; research shows that people to wake up early tend to be much less lazy or depressed than people who wake up late. So start your day fast and early; enjoy the mornings with some fresh mango milkshake or juice, catch up on some reading or just feed the birds. How early you wake up directly affects the quality of sleep you get at night.
Another slumber drawback in summer’s is that people seem to snore more often; mostly because of the excessive drinking of water. So if you’re a snorer you might want to work on yourself to improve your sleep and the people sleeping around you. Mouth exercises really help with the snoring problem.
The heavy load shedding can be a major reason of our lack of proper sleep in the summer; as it’s difficult to get much sleep if you’re feeling hot. While we can’t do anything about the power cuts; but we might have a solution for the ‘too hot to sleep’ problem now with the Diamond Supreme Smart Gel mattress. This genius mattress can be flipped to the summer side, which keeps you cool all night; so you can get a good night’s sleep, without worrying about the load shedding. So let’s all sleep well this summer.
