KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), conducting a raid on Education Department at Sindh Secretariat, has taken all records of additional recruitments in its possession.
A team of NAB officials raided the office of Sindh Education Department’s secretary and acquired details of 15 thousand recruitments made in 2011-12, in which 1,300 additional appointments were in Karachi. While more than 4,000 teachers received additional salaries of more than Rs 15billion in the last 20 years.
Education Secretary Fazlullah Pechuho directed his subordinate officers to cooperate with the raiding team and give all the information they demanded. According to sources, NAB officials also interrogated the Education Department’s officials for two hours. It is worth mentioning, that NAB has also filed a reference on additional recruitments in an accountability court.
