JAMRUD: Security forces on Friday razed to the ground 10 vacant houses of Afghan citizens in Mulagori area of Khyber Agency, official sources said. The political administration in the tribal agency had asked the Afghan refugees in Mulagori to vacate houses constructed illegally. Most of the families had vacated their houses and left the area. The security forces after the expiry of the deadline started an operation and demolished 10 vacant houses of the Afghan refugees.
Assistant Political Agent Jamrud Saiful Islam said that security forces demolished more than 10 houses constructed by Afghan refugees in Mulagori.
He said that more than 1000 Afghan refugees were residing in the area, despite not having the requisite documents to do so. He added that the operation would continue till today (Saturday) and the security forces would demolish any other houses constructed without permission.
