MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that if people of Azad Jammu Kashmir would elect his party in the upcoming Kashmiri election, he would make a ‘Valley of Benazir’ in the state.

“If the valley would look like Benazir, it would be like a mother,” he said, referring to his late mother, and two-time former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. He urged the Kashmiri people to vote for PPP, for a peaceful Kashmir and vote for Bilawal.

Addressing a public rally here in Kashmiri capital, the PPP chairman said that his party has clear stance on terrorism. “We are against all terrorists, including (Indian Prime Minister Narendra) Modi and the Tehreek-e-Taliban,” he said.

“Height of brutality is that lethal pellets are being fired on Kashmiri children but (Prime Minister) Nawaz Sharif has turned a blind eye to it. He (Nawaz) is silent over the Indian forces’ atrocities,” he said. He asked the rally that how many times has Nawaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue on international forum in three years?

“If PPP didn’t raise the voice against Indian brutality, the prime minister would not even announce solidarity with Kashmiris,” he maintained. Lambasting at Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Senator Ishaq Dar, Bilawal said that the personal accountant of Nawaz Sharif was now making the economic policies of Pakistan.

He said that the finance minister himself accepted that the PML-N government has failed to meet any targets in three years. “The economic policies of PML-N are for the rich, not for the poor. Under PML-N government, the rich is getting richer and the poor poorer,” he said without sharing details of his claim.

Bilawal said that all human development projects like BISP, Waseela-e-Haq, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Gwadar, Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline were given by PPP including the biggest projects in Kashmir’s history.
