ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani officially asked Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz to appear before the upcoming 250th Senate session and make a statement on the US Congress members’ remarks against Pakistan.

“Such callous remarks on various occasions by some US lawmakers have become a routine,” he said in his letter to the adviser. “Our parliament cannot be a silent bystander to see attacks on our integrity, sovereignty and national security,” he said.

In his statement, the Senate chairman had conveyed his displeasure over the remarks of the American lawmakers and had expressed the hope that saner elements in the US Congress would take note of such irresponsible statements.
