Bhakkar PML-N members prove to be a stumbling block for justice to the poor

ISLAMABAD: The Muslim League-Nawaz members belonging to District Bhakkar have badly shattered the justice provision vision of Chief Minister Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif with the close harmonisation of the local police.

According to Daily Times they prevented a woman who had been a rape victim to enter into the local police station despite a one month period.

Nargis Babi, a victim of rape had appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Chief Justice Lahore High Court to take suo-moto notice of this horrific crime against her and nbe provided justice.

According to details, Azmat Sher Cheena an influencial personality of District Bhakkar forcefully entered the house of a woman (35) and subjected her to torture. Zafar Ali Shah, on coming to know about this incident, detained Azmat Sher Cheena by closing the door of the house.

Dozens of persons hailing from the Cheena community reached the scene. On the interference of an influential personality of the locality, Azmat Cheena was released.

According to Zafar Shah, he was a poor person. When he along with his wife approached the police, the police closed its doors and he along with his wife reached the District Police Officer (DPO) Bhukkar. But the DPO considered their complaint as serious and promised them justice.

After one day, the police on political pressure raided on the house of te Zafar Shah and after mounting pressure registered a case under Section294/355/342 /382 and arrested two persons for investigation where they were subjected to severe torture.

The affected lady Nargis bibi told Daily Times that she was seeking justice adding that she had approached the RPO Sargodah but he did not pay heed towards her matter. Her husband is subjected to torture at a local police station after a fake case was lodged against him.

“The police did not examine my medical check-up despite one month of the incident had passed and treated me with disrespect,”, Nargis Bibi added.

She appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali and the Chief Justice Lahore High Court to take a suo-moto notice of the horrific incident and provide justice to her.
