KARACHI: The Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA) organised an ‘Eid Milan’ party followed by a lavish dinner which was attended by a large number of Aligarians, dignitaries and others. While welcoming the guests, AMUOBA president and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said, “Today’s Eid Milan gives an opportunity for Aligarians to gather for exchange of views and get relief from the daily burden of life and work pressures. It is beyond doubts that Aligarians gathering transform the burden of stress into pleasant feelings. This Eid Milan gathering also has a distinguish feature because it includes a “Poetic Sitting” that shows continuation of the remarkable Aligarian tradition. While referring to the Sir Syed Tower, SSUET Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said, “Construction of Sir Syed Tower is like a dream come true for Aligarians and despite all hurdles, the first phase of the Tower is going through the final stage of construction. Sir Syed Tower is the great source of historical value that will carve new venues of academic progress.” He said, “We are determined to achieve our set targets by the support of members of SSUET Board of Governors, and with the blessings and help of the concerned persons. He also appreciated AMUOBA General Secretary Arshad Khan and his team for organising such a successful event. Eminent poets Tariq Sabzwari, Qaiser Wajadi, Naeem Bazaidpuri and Haider Hasnain Jaleesi enthralled the audience with their beautiful poetry on this auspicious occasion.
