Nothing like food to bring people together

7UP in Pakistan has come to be associated with food and foodies. These two terms are the backbone of existence for a lot of Pakistanis – good food is often the main topic of discussion wherever one goes.

This year, 7UP decided to bring all foodies together under one umbrella, “Foodies Without Borders”.

The exclusive event took place at Royal Palm on Sunday. “Foodies Without Borders” brought out the specialties from three major cities, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar. Renowned local vendors like Waris Nihari, Zakir Tikka, Cheeka Chikker Channa, Merath Dhaga Kabab, Karachi Biryani and Peshawari Charsi Tikka poured in to show off their food by offering people the most delicious of items and a joyful experience.

The portions were more than hearty. Food brings people together like nothing else… eating together is the ultimate way of forgoing other conflicts. A huge crowd was present at the star-studded event including celebrities like Ahmed Ali Butt, Munib Nawaz, Amanat Ali and Noor Bukhari. The event was enthusiastically hosted by model Cybil Chaudhry and VJ Shahzad Khan. Khumariyan, the band, played live music from different cultures, which lit up the traditional environment. The event was organised by JbnJaws.

The food that tempted me the most was from Lahore – Cheeka’s Chikkarr Cholay and Kaka Gurda Champ. Totally on-point flavours – after all, Lahore Lahore Aey! It was a fun day out, where everyone got to have treats and street food with great live music… Just my type of gig!
