533 held during targeted operations

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers arrested 533 accused include 127 Afghan nationals from September 5, 2013 till date, during the targeted operation conducted by the Rangers in different areas of Interior Sindh under Article 147.

According to Sindh Rangers spokesperson on Thursday, out of 533 arrested accused, 478 were handed over to the police for further legal proceedings while 55 to other law enforcement agencies including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Pakistan Customs and FC.

He said that the accused include 127 Afghan nationals, 34 activists of banned organisations, 16 members of separatists movements, four belonging to an armed wing of a political party, 18 dacoits, 10 smugglers, 11 illegal hunters, 24 drug peddlers and 234 accused of other criminal activities were arrested. The spokesperson said that two officials and two personnel of Rangers embraced martyrdom while two got injured during targeted operation in Interior Sindh.
