CHARSADDA: A police constable died during an encounter with wanted outlaws in Nisata area of the district, official sources said. They said Constable Khadim Hussain died during a police raid in Tauheedabad area in Nisata when wanted outlaws including Shoaib and his accomplices opened fire at the police.
Sources said that police had received a tip off about the presence of wanted criminal Shoaib and his accomplices at a house in Tauheedabad. “Police raided the house owned by one Bakhtiar but before the raiding party could enter the house, the outlaws opened fire at them critically injuring Constable Khadim Hussain,” an official said. He added that the wounded cop was shifted to a hospital in Charsadda but he succumbed to his injuries. Later, the body was shifted to the Police Lines in Charsadda where his funeral prayer was offered with state honours.
Afterwards the body was handed over to the relatives for burial. The deceased was buried at his ancestral graveyard in Tarnab village. Khadim Hussain left a widow with four sons. Police arrested the owner of the house Bakhtiar and his son Athar and charged them with harbouring outlaws.
