FPCCI urges CM to extend Rangers’ stay in Sindh

Author: Staff Report

KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) senior Vice President Sheikh Khalid Tawab has urged the Sindh chief minister to extend the deadline of Rangers’ stay until complete restoration of law and order in the province. He advised the CM to request the federal government to provide a legal notice about Rangers’ stay in Sindh. Deliberate hindrances have been created in Ranger’s operation for political mileage by antisocial movements, he added. Tawab argued that Rangers have been playing a vital role to bring back peace and tranquility in Sindh, especially in Karachi. The business community could not afford slackness in the National Action Plan aimed at improving law and order situation, which would restore confidence of the business community. Prior to Rangers’ operation, the business community was helpless before extortionists, kidnappers, target killers and street criminals. The vice president said that Karachi is the business hub of Pakistan and restoration of peace in the country would result in the development of the country’s economy. He appreciated the efforts of the Rangers Director General Major Bilal Akbar and his team for improved law and order. He apprehended that decision against Rangers’ stay would reverse the current law and order situation and antisocial elements would re-emerge.
