KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board Regional Inter-District Seniors (Karachi Region) 2016-17 started in Karachi at different grounds on Friday.
Three matches played on the opening day of the 3-day matches of the PCB Regional Inter District Senior (Karachi Region) Cricket Tournament.
Zone-I made 275 runs for loss of 8 wickets in 83 overs at Landhi Gymkhana Ground.
Zakir Ali crashed 63 in 123 balls by hitting seven boundaries,
Mirza Ahsan Jameel 55 off 76 with the aid of 7 fours and one six and Basit Ali 52 not out 8 fours. Maroof Aziz (MF) snapped out 4 wickets for 57 runs.
Zone-V scored 6/0 in 5 overs and it would continue to play on Saturday.
In the 2nd match, Zone-VII made the score 162 runs all out in 60 overs at Naya Nazimabad Ground.
Ameet Ravi blasted 61 runs not out with 8 fours and Owais Ahmed Rehmani 21 3 fours.
Wajid Saleem (SLA) captured 4 wickets for 58 runs and Junaid Naeem (SLA) 4 wicket for 57 runs.
In reply, Zone-II scored 108 for loss of 3 wickets in 30 overs.
Obaidur Rehman made 28 runs with 3 fours and Fahadis
Bukhari 22 not out 2 fours. Mansoor Ahmed grabbed 2 wickets for 35 runs.
The rest players would continue to play on Saturday.
In the 3rd match, Zone-III ended 259 all out in 82.5 overs at TMC Ground. Shahzer Hasan blasted 82 off 186 with the aid of 7 fours and 2 sixes, Muhammad Waqas 45 with 3 four and one six and Zeeshan Jameel 41 by hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Danish Aziz (SLA) took 3 wickets for 42 runs and Salman Khan (SLC) 3 wickets for 62.
Zone-VI made only 13/1 in 6 overs and would play on Saturday.
