An accountability court in Lahore on Wednesday sought a report from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director-general for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s jail trial.

Accountability Court Administrative Judge Jawad al Hassan issued a four-page written order in the money laundering reference.

The written order stated that the best solution to complete an early trial is a jail trial.

It also mentioned that the people in the courtroom face difficulties when PML-N leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz appear before the court.

In the wake of the current situation of the coronavirus, the written order stated, DG NAB should submit a report in the Lahore court.

According to the written order, Shehbaz’s children Suleiman Shehbaz and Rabia Imran are deliberately not joining the trial, adding that they must appear in court in the future.

NAB officials should provide copies of statements of the four pardoned witnesses to the lawyers of the accused, the written order stated.
