Tragic turn: Six killed, 12 injured in bus-truck collision

BUREWALA: Six people died and twelve injured when a bus and a truck collided on Lahore road late on Monday night.

Police said a speeding bus was on its way to Karachi when it collided with a loaded truck coming from the opposite side near Tufail Abad.

The bus skidded off the road into nearby fields while the truck turned turtle on the road.

Five passengers and the bus driver, named Sajan, died on the spot and 12 other passengers were injured.

Soon after the accident, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured and the bodies to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Burewala.

One of the deceased was identified as Hafiz Muhammad Ghulam Nabi, while the identities of the other four have yet to be ascertained.

The injured were identified as Saif, Aftab, Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Sultan, Manzoor Ahmed, Muhammad Sadiq, Mian Khan, Tauqeer Akram, Saif, Muhammad Munir and Muhammad Nadeem.
