The second wave of coronavirus has started hitting the city as four students of the Faisalabad Medical University have tested positive for Covid-19. Separately, three students and one teacher of the Special Education Center, Jinnah Town, were also declared Covid positive on Monday.
The confirmation of coronavirus has stirred a panic among the campus community, citizens district administration and the health department. A special camp was set up at Faisalabad Medical University for screening of students. Samples were taken for testing of students returning from holidays and as a result, four of them came out to be positive. A student living in a university hostel has been quarantined. Similarly, the other three students who were day scholars have been quarantined in their homes while corona sampling of the rest of his family is being obtained.
Acting Vice Chancellor of Faisalabad Medical University Dr. Hina Ayesha said that a meeting of the Academic Council has been convened on October 27 after the students tested positive for the coronavirus. In which important decisions will be taken in consultation whether the future academic activities will be continued in Faisalabad University or not.
Moreover, virus has also been confirmed in 3 special children and a teacher of Government Special Education Center Jinnah Town. After which Government Special Education Center Jinnah Town has been completely closed for educational activities. The special children and teachers who were diagnosed with the corona virus have been shifted to the anti-corona ward of Allied Hospital.
