MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) nominated its candidates on Sunday for the reserved seats in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections.
The election commission had already issued schedule for the election of eight reserve seats of AJK’s legislative assembly which would be held on July 29. The nomination papers would be filed on Monday at the Chief Election Commissioner’s office.
The PMLN has nominated Sehrish Khan, Nasra Khan and Naseema Wani for the three women seats while Jamat-e-Islami (JI) would nominate its candidate for the fourth seat as per the agreement reached between the two parties before the elections.
The opposition can manage to win fifth woman seat for which the All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference (MC) had nominated its outgoing member assembly and secretary General Mehr-un-Nisa.
The PMLN nominated Jamat-e-Islami AJK Chief Abdul Rasheed Turabi for the seat reserved for Technocrat, Pir Ali Raza Bukhari for the seat reserved for Ulema and Mashaikh (religious scholars) and Raja Javaid for the seat reserved for the overseas Kashmiris.
