QUETTA: Provincial Health Minister Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch has said that all districts of Balochistan would be provided with HIV/Aids diagnostic centres which would be equipped with latest and required scientific equipments.
The patients would also be provided with medical treatment of the disease at district level. He said this while addressing a seminar on adopting preventive measures against HIV/Aids which was organised by Provincial Aids Control Programme and non-governmental organization (NGO), ‘Legend’.
The minister said, “The best preventive measure against HIV/Aids is to raise awareness among people about the fatal disease.” Promoting principles of hygiene in the society could also help in saving people from deadly diseases, he added.
He said that his department was putting efforts to establish HIV/Aids diagnostic and treatment centres in every district of the province where patients would also be provided medical treatment.
He said that aids screening of prisoners in all prisons of Balochistan would be made to diagnose the HIV/Aids virus. “The HIV/Aids screening of 900 patients at prisons in Quetta has been made and the screening process was underway at remaining prisons of the province,” he said.
