27,573 take test for admission to medical colleges in KP

PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University organised ‘Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA)’ entrance test for enrolment in public and private sector medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

A total of 27,573 candidates including 16,791 male and 10,782 females appeared in the test held at different venues in Peshawar, Abbottabat, Swat and Dera Ismail Khan. The tests in Peshawar were conducted at the Islamia Collegiate School playground and Khyber Medical College cricket ground. Tests in Abbottabad were held at Ayub Medical College, while a ground in Saidu Sharif hosted candidates appearing for medical and dental seats from Swat. Candidates from Dera Ismail Khan took the exam in University Wensem College halls.

According to details, 9,100 students appeared at Islamia Collegiate School ground, 6,624 students tried their luck at Khyber Medical College cricket ground. Ayub Medical College Abbottabad hosted 3,961 students, 5,147 students sat at a ground in Saidu Sharif Swat and 2741 students appeared at University Wensem College D.I.Khan Centre.

The results of the test are scheduled to be announced today and would be available on KMU website as well as on ETEA website. In addition the results would also be communicated to the all candidates individually via SMS on their mobile.

The Vice Chancellor of KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah, while talking to the media and staff expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the entrance test and was glad that there was an increase in number of students compared to last year.
