Influentials trying to save firing accused

ISLAMABAD: Investig-ations into a firing incident on the car of TV anchor, Muhammad Shahzad, has taken a new turn as some politicians are allegedly trying to save skin of accused.

The TV anchor luckily escaped in the firing incident that took place on the night between Saturday and Sunday at Jinnah Avenue. Police had arrested four people including two women, besides recovering the car used in crime from a guesthouse situated at F/8 sector. Both the women, however, were released on political pressure. Those who are still in custody are Zahid Khan Jadoon and Chaudhry Rehmat. Zahid Jadoon belongs to a political family and is a close relative of PML-N MNA Tariq Khan Jadoon. Sources said that after the arrest of Zahid Jadoon, several political corners started exerting pressure on the police to deal softly with the accused.
