Disgruntled PTI members refuse to negotiate with Tareen

PESHAWAR: Dissident members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ruled out negotiations with senior party leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Monday, stating that they would hold talks only with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

According to sources close to the disgruntled PTI members, the group refused to negotiate with Jahangir Tareen for the resolution of their issues. The group stated that if they were to negotiate or hold talks with anyone, it would be Imran Khan only.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan had given the task to pacify dissident members of the PTI to Jahangir Tareen. Protesting members had cited reservations over the distribution of funds by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ministers and their attitudes as reasons for their disapproval with the provincial government.

PTI’s protesting members had threatened to hold protests publicly if their problems were not resolved by July 29. On Sunday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had stated that it was not possible to fulfill the promises Imran Khan had made to accomplish in 90 days in even five years’ time.
