Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, Asad Umar said PML-N leadership started to malign the national institutions because it could not succeed to get an NRO to save their looted money.

He expressed such views while addressing press conference here at his residence on Sunday. He was flanked by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi.

Asad Umar said that former premier Nawaz Sharif also sent an envoy twice to secure an NRO for himself and her daughter, now he was criticizing national institutions. This did not happen a decade or months back but it happened a few weeks ago, he added.

Lashing out at PML-N leadership, the minister said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was selling narratives of India but Indian narratives cannot sell anymore neither in Pakistan, nor across the world. Nawaz Sharif is dishonest and absconder and a wanted person in Pakistan, he said, adding that his politics is based on hypocrisy. He has nothing to do with politics or democracy but to save his corruption. Sitting in London, he is talking about the role of institutions and he did not forget what he has done, he said adding he supported dictator and secured Chief Minister-ship or ministry in past. During Junejo regime, he was standing with dictator not with Junejo, the minister said, adding that IJI was formed and elections were rigged where he became successful in becoming chief minister of Punjab. “Nawaz Sharif was talking about judiciary but he himself attacked Supreme Court of Pakistan and then chief justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan. The verdict of panama case was written by judges of Supreme Court,” he added.

The PTI leader said that former premier criticized national institutions openly but he has never raised his voice against Modi and his government for committing the heinous crime against Muslim in India. “Why Indian Prime Minister, Modi visited the house former premier of Pakistan as Modi oversaw the massacre of Muslims in Indian Gujarat,” he asked, and urged the oppositions not to drag country’s institutions into politics.

Criticizing Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership, the minister said that this was same party and leaders who was talking about the implementations of SOPs to contain the Covid-19 in the country. Now same party and its leadership are violating SOPs by organizing the rally in the country, he added.

Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz said the government has always supported a meaningful political dialogue with the opposition parties on the issues being confronted by the country and the people. The government had welcomed an issues-based constructive criticism by the opposition and its cooperation on legislation in the Parliament as it was imperative to create a healthy political culture in the country without compromising on basic political ideology and above personal interests, he said while talking to a private news channel.

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that coalition of opposition parties would not last longer because all these parties had different political interests, ideologies, manifestos and flags. Addressing press conference at Raza Hall, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi maintained that the people rejected the Gujranwala public meeting of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). “PDM is negative, temporary and unnatural alliance”, said Qureshi adding that the different leaders gathered at one platform due to fear of cases and ultimately to escape from accountability process.
