Egyptian army wishes to benefit from Pak Army’s experience

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif reached Cairo on Monday on a two-day official visit Inter Services Public Relations Director General General Asim Bajwa tweeted.

According to the tweet message, the COAS was presented guard of honour at the Egyptian Army Headquarters. He held separate meetings with Chief of Staff and Defence Minister.

During the meetings they discussed Pakistan and Egypt military to military relations, enhanced defence and security cooperation and collaboration besides training exchanges. Both the sides vowed to synergise all efforts and resources to fight and eliminate terrorism.

The Egyptian leaders expressed special interest in benefiting from Pakistan Army’s experience in all facets of fighting terrorism including Counter improvised explosive devices (IED).
