Man held for damaging temple in Badin

Badin police on Saturday arrested a man identified as Ismail Sheedi on the charges of damaging the statues of the deities in a Hindu temple within the limits of Kario Ghanwar police station.

The accused, according to the area people and police, damaged the status of sacred deities in the local temple Shri Rama Pir near Golarchi town. SSP Badin Shabir Ahmed Sethar taking the strong notice of the gruesome incident sent the police teams to village Sobho Khan Chandio to examine the damages caused by the accused to the temples.

“Police during the raids arrested the main suspect and further investigation is underway,” he added. Sethar while talking to this reporter said that the incident took place early Saturday. He said that an FIR under the relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code had been registered on the complaint of one Ashok Kolhi at Kario Ghanwar police station. ” I have directed DSP Badin Asghar Jatt to further investigate the incident and furnish the detailed report to him within next 24 hours” he added and asked the people of the Hindu community to stay peaceful since the police acted promptly and arrested the miscreant The sources said the drug addict Ismail Sheedi wanted to steal some money from the temple and in his desperate attempt he damaged some statues of the deities placed in the small temple.

A large number of the people from Hindu communities including PTI MNA Lal Malhi took to Twitter and condemned the incident.
