FBR issues notices to non-filer buyers of luxury vehicles

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to 1,652 unregistered tax offenders who purchased luxury cars this year. It was alarming to know that out of 2,014 luxury cars, only 352 car buyers are tax-payers.

The FBR warned them of stern action if they failed to get themselves registered with the said Board.

In the Faisalabad region of the FBR, it was found that in 2020, 2,014 cars ranging from 1000 CC to 2400 CC were purchased by the citizen. Out of them, 1,652 are unregistered with the FBP and they didn’t pay any penny in terms of tax to FBR.

FBR officials told the scribe that they kicked off the clampdown drive on the tax defaulters on the directives of the government. They said that they had issued the notices to the luxury car owners who were trying to escape from the tax net. They warned tax defaulters of facing the music if they do not follow the state tax regulations. They said that they were working on a campaign to search the unregistered businessman and bring them into the tax net.
