ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan embassy is continuously in touch with the Indonesian authorities to bring Zulfiqar Ali back to Pakistan, a statement released by the Foreign Office on Wednesday said.
Zulfiqar was arrested in Indonesia in 2004 on charges of drug smuggling and later he was awarded capital punishment. The statement said that the convict did not appeal to the Indonesian president for mercy and the Supreme Court validated the verdict of lower court.
It added that the issue was also raised between high authorities of the two countries.
