Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Sunday that the only priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is to put opposition leaders behind bars as NAB-Niazi nexus has been exposed now. Addressing a news conference, Marriyum said “A new narrative of treason has come into open after not even a single penny of corruption was proved against Nawaz Sharif. She said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has only one narrative ‘vote ko izzat do’ (give respect to vote).”

The PML-N spokesperson said people are bearing the cost of government’s incompetence. Every morning new narratives started coming out and then PML-N had to respond to it, she added.

She also shared a monthly review of price indices which compared prices of pulses, milk, sugar, flour and other essential commodities in comparison to the PML-N era. Marriyum Aurangzeb said Nawaz Sharif had promoted democracy after the 2013 elections and statement of treason means to take the country back to the politics of 1985. “Those who do not represent the people and do not come with the mandate of the people are giving certificates of treason and patriotism,” she further said.

Talking to media persons, she said that the narrative of declaring political opponents traitors has always failed.

She said, “PML-N’s organizational structure has been completed and the remaining party posts at the district level in some cities will be completed soon.”

“The PML-N will play an active role in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM),” she added.

The PML-N spokesperson said the government’s priority is not the people of Pakistan but is to silence the dissenting voices. She alleged thieves are being sent out from the country on chartered planes. “The Health Secretary in Geneva is sent back due to lack of transparency,” she claimed.
