Six Afghans among nine held in Mardan

PESHAWAR: The Mardan police on Wednesday arrested three proclaimed offenders and six Afghan nationals in search and strike operations in the district.

Gandapur Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Shafiullah Khan, told reporters that a team conducted raids on directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad.

The raiding team also checked data of 72 suspicious people, more than 200 motorbikes and over 300 houses.

Several cases were registered against the owners of houses and tenants for not registering them in the concerned police stations.

Shafiullah added that the police also recovered one Kalashnikov, six pistols, one shotgun and bullets from their custody. He added that separate cases have been lodged in concerned police stations.
